I am happy to announce a New more affordable touring frame from Bruce Gordon
Cycles. I often read on various news groups that people wanted a tour
ready frame for less $$$.
I have found a small frame shop in Taiwan to produce a BLT (Basic Loaded
Touring) frame to my specifications. It will have the same geometry and
tubing specifications as my well known Rock 'n Road Tour frames.
They will include 4130 Cro-Mo plate dropouts CNC machined to my design.
I will continue making the racks and Bruce Gordon frames in my shop in
Petaluma California.
I introduced the new frame at Interbike in Las Vegas with much positive
response. I also met with the people making them from Taiwan who brought a
first prototype with them to the show. They are very anxious to make a
frame that meets my standards, and I'm very confident they are up to the
task.
They will be available in 5 sizes - the 2 smallest will be 26", and the
largest 3 will be 700c. They will come with my racks, front & rear - Racks
made in my shop in California. They will have a 1" threaded steerer, with
an option of a threadless steerer. I will also be having less expensive
quill stems made in Taiwan.
The best part is that the "Whole Package" will include a frame, fork, and my
4130 tubular racks (made in California) front and rear for $925 + shipping
and handling.
There will be small changes to the braze ons.
The Chinese (which says "Basic Loaded Touring Bike" in the decal will be Gold colored.
The first batch should be delivered in 90 to 120 days!!
